Forgiveness

Why do we need forgiveness?
Why does God provide forgiveness?
How do we personally recieve God's forgiveness?

  • Live as a person of forgiveness
  • GIVE UP you claim to be RIGHT!
  • Trust God to handle those who wrong you
    • If they are Christians, they will have to face this on judgement day
Greek word for sin (hamartia) means:
  • To miss the mark
  • to do or go wrong
Righteous
  • To be free of guilt and sin
  • To be conformed to God's standards not mans

Romans 3: 9-12
Well then, should we conclude that we Jews are better than others? No, not at all, for we have already shown that all people, whether Jews or Gentiles,[a] are under the power of sin. 10 As the Scriptures say,
“No one is righteous—
not even one.
11 No one is truly wise;
no one is seeking God.
12 All have turned away;
all have become useless.
No one does good,
not a single one.”

Romans 5:12
  • Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, an ddeath through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned.

2 Corinthians 5:21
  • God made him who had no sin to be sin for us so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

 How do we personally recieve God's forgiveness?
  1. Agree with God that you have sinned (1 John 1:9)
  2. Take responsibility for your sins (Stop blaming others-Get real!)
  3. Tekk God you are willing to make restitution if necessary (Take responsibility--Matthew 5:23-24)
  4. Thank God for the blood of Jesus that cleanses you from all sin and in faith accept His forgiveness
  5. Take God at His word (Romans 8:1)
  6. Thank God for the gift of His Holy Spirit. Desire to walk by Spirit not by flesh (Galatians 5:16)

This is what we learned tonight in Wednesday Night Youth! Really enjoyed the lesson! Thank you Momma Jordie!

I love you and so does God!

  1. love your blog and what a great way to talk about forgiveness. If I could add one more thing that I struggle with in forgiveness, is knowing that I also have to give up my right for revenge or pay back for what they have done to me or a loved one...

    Love you...
