Beautiful

I love these people more than anything. They have been through a lot and God certainly shows how much he loves us. They have showed me what true love is and what it means to live a life and sharing the gospel. I am forever grateful for them.

Love you guys!

S-N-O-W

Down here in the South when you say the word S-N-O-W, people think you are screaming FIRE! Supposedly it is supposed to snow here on Thursday and Friday...I will believe it when I see it!

Publix...be ready! Everyone is coming to buy bread, eggs, and milk.

I love you and so does God!

Catch Up Time

So it has been a while since I have last blogged. So there is a lot to catch up on...so if you are ready, let's go...

Well let's start with...I made the newspaper!!  As most of you know, I work at the elementary school in the mornings and one Wednesday, I walked in and began doing what I do every morning which is filing papers and making copies. After all the kids got settled, they all sat around me as I read them a Christmas story. I was getting closer to the end of the book and these two ladies walked in, one with a camera and the other with paper and pen. As I finished up the book, the lady with the pen and paper asked if I could step out in the hallway for a minute or two. I agreed and little did I know, they were from the newspaper.  They started asking me questions and before I knew it, they were off and I was back to what I was doing. If you want to read what they wrote about me, you can click the link below and read:

Next up...Christmas!! Happy Birthday Jesus!  The Birth of Jesus is always my favorite part of the bible and just for reference, here it is below:

The Birth of Jesus

2 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register.
4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,
14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”
16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.
21 On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.

Well...I got a GPS for Christmas. Being funny...no, I get lost very easy!! No Joke!  I got some other good stuff and enjoyed time with my family. I love spending time with family and friends. My family and I drove up to South Carolina and visited my granddad. Although it was a short visit...it was a much needed visit to see my granddad.

The New Year rolls around and I was asked by my best friend if I wanted to go to Passion 2013...and I had to think about it. I wasn't sure. But I agreed to go. And for those who don't know what Passion is...Passion is a Christain organization founded by Luoie Giglio in 1997 known for their annual spiritual  awakening gatherings for young adults, more specifically college students. Passion uses Isaiah 26:8 as their theme verse "Yes, Lord, walking in the way of Your truth we wait eagerly for You, for Your name and renown are the desire of our souls."

Going into Passion, I wasn't quite sure what to expect with 60,000 other Christians all together. But after singing the first song and Passion, officially, got started, I felt God in the room. I mean, within the first 20 minutes, there were tears shed, prayers being said, and hands being raised in the air. Everyday we had 3 main sessions with speakers from Louie Giglio, himself, Beth Moore, Francis Chan, Judah Smith, and John Piper. And we had AMAZING singers from Chris Tomlin, Kristain Stanfill, Christy Nockels, Matt Redman, Lecrae, Jesus Culture, Kari Jobe, Brett Younker, and David Crowder Band.

Every morning and in the evening, we had community groups. And within our community groups, you don't know anyone. You don't know stories, you don't even know if they are a Christian. I was blessed to be with some pretty strong Christians, and I wish I had time and could tell you their stories, but it is AMAZING how God works. We balanced each other out and by the second day, we were all vulnerable. I felt God put us all together for a reason.

This year at Passion, we were talking about fighting and ending slavery. There are 27 million people in slavery. We heard about Rachel, a girl who was in slavery since age 11. She was raped and sold for sex by her uncle and men in clubs, and she never thought that she would be saved. She thought she just wanted to die in her sleep. That was until Love146 and IJM came to her rescue. Louie and Shelly Giglio asked us to stand and pray for her, not knowing she was actually in the room. After we finished, Shelly introduced us to her. She told her translator "that she had never smiled this big until she knew Jesus."

Passion is you and me saying goodbye to lesser things and saying yes to the One whose name is above every name. It was a life changing experience. I saw God move faster in my life faster and harder in these four short days than I have ever felt before. He showed that the unconditional love he has for me will never fade. No matter how far I want to run, his arms are still open and he is ready to love me when no one else will. Even when I don't want to love myself.

From Beth Moore and Francis Chan, "Our past doesn't have to be our future; the enemy will not win; God's promises can be trusted; Jesus wants you back....he will buy you back!"

Okay, so longer than I expected, but had to catch you up...I hope you know I haven't forgotten about you...just been busy! I love you guys so much!!

I hope to keep this updated! I love you and so does God!
