Long Time...Sorry

Hey there everyone! Sorry it has been a while since I last posted...been busy. So I don't know where to start with what I have been doing lately. I will start with my most recent event that happened.

From June 17-June 22, I went as a leader to the Great Escape. The Great Escape is a middle school retreat where they learn all about Jesus and have fun while doing it. I was so privileged to have gone this year as a leader, but I was also privileged to go as a middle schooler for 3 years. Those 3 years really did change my life. They had extremely wet, dirty, nasty, but fun games. Everything from Yuk (slimy stuff), shaving cream, water balloons, mud, etc...Can't get any messier than that. It was a fun experience. The band they had this year was called the Brett Younkers Band. They are based out of Atlanta, Georgia. They actually live in Marietta, GA. They are an awesome band. Check them out! I had a joy sitting back and watching each one of those kids come to Jesus. It brought tears to my eyes. On Thursday, we had our free day. We went white water rafting. Not my thing. I had to sit in the front for about half of the adventure. Let me just say that I didn't like sitting up there and see that right in front of me, I could die. Just not my thing. It was fun, don't get me wrong, but I just didn't like seeing my life flash before my eyes. Unfortunately the week had to come to an end, but it was a wonderful experience.

Evening speaker, Kenn Kington and I

I dated myself that night because I went up to Kenn Kington and told him that when I was in 8th grade, he was here! How amazing is that! He said that made his night! That makes me feel special!

Girls and Kenn Kington

We had VBS at church and I had the privelege of leading my brother, Joshua, group around. It was hard work, but I managed to get through it all. It was a nice sight to see all the little kids and big kids sing and praise Jesus.

Please pray for my friend, Payton, she leaves Friday at 6 A.M. to travel to Slovakia. She is answering God's calling to serve the less fortunate and that just so happens to be across the ocean. I will have no communication with her and I am sad. I am also a little scared for her because over there, they are pick pocketers. I know though when she gets back, she will tell me all about it.

Later in July (July 7-14), I am heading to the beach with my small group and I am super excited. I can hardly wait to spend time with my girls! I am still trying to save up my money to go, but I know that God will provide it. And then the last week in July, I will be answering God's call for me and that is serving the less fortunate in Eastern Tennessee specifically Sneedville, TN. I am going on my 2nd mission trip and I can hardly wait for it. We get to lead a VBS, a first ever sports camp, and serve the less fortunate all in a week's span. I can't wait!!!!

I will try to remember and keep you posted but for now, I guess that is it.

I love you and so does God!

Yesterday...All My Troubles Seemed So Far Away

So...I didn't get to post the other day because we were out late last night and I was to tired. So tonight, I will post about yesterday and today.

Yesterday

My family went to Patriots Point. Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum is located in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, at the mouth of the Cooper River on the Charleston Harbor, across from Charleston. Patriots Point has 3 "museum" ships. You can explore each of them and learn all about the ships. It was pretty amazing seeing all the stuff that was on the ship and what they did back then. BUT, it was also pretty scary because you had to walk down stairs on the ship, and they were not your average stairs. And, you better be in shape and better be skinny because some of the hallways were pretty darn tight. Then, we went and ate at a restaurant called Shem Creek Bar and Grill. It was pretty delicious. I couldn't believe how good the food was. Later in the evening, we went up to Vincent's Drug Store and Soda Fountain where we all enjoyed milkshakes. My treat for everyone.

Oh...forgot to mention....I got up and took sunrise pictures. So the pictures of the sun you see...those are sunrise pictures.

Today

Today was a quiet day if that's a word you can use while at the beach. We just enjoyed our last day here walking up and down the beach. We have rinsed off all our shells we have collected over the past 6 days and "bucketed" them up which means put all the shells in a bucket to take home. We have two buckets full of shells. Wow! Later we went and ate at Rosebank's Cafe. Yummy food! So as I say farewell to Kiawah Island, I say hello to what lies ahead. All trips must come to end...sadly :'(

I will show you all the pictures tomorrow or Sunday. I will get them uploaded though. But here are the sunrise pictures:
